How it works? Area faith communities host shelter guests for one week at a time, beginning on Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. and concluding on the following Monday morning at 7:00 a.m. A healthy, nutritious dinner and a light breakfast is provided each day.
Staffing. A professional operatons manager and paid, trained night managers staff the shelter. In addition, each faith community and their partners provide a daily team of volunteers (approximately 6-8 people), who will furnish the meals, offer optional evening activities, and spend the night (2 volunteers).
Support. Faith communities, businesses, and service organizations of our area, along with many benevolent individuals, provide the necessary funding, along with offerings of time, talent, and gifts-in-kind. WATTS lodges and provides meals for about $10 per person, per night.
How you can help? Please send all donations to Mr. John Conrad at Opequon Presbyterian Church, 217 Opequon Church Lane, Winchester, VA 22602. Make checks payable to WATTS. To volunteer: help4watts@gmail.com
